Police in Indonesia, after refusing a permit for Lady Gaga to perform in Jakarta, said Friday they were considering an offer from her local promoters to tone down the pop superstar’s racy show. But while the promoters indicated a deal was being worked on for the June 3 concert, the US singer’s management has vowed no compromise to appease religious conservatives.
I know this is scary and all that, but I can’t help but think to myself, “You did it, bitch,” because it takes someone who is truly doing something revolutionary to piss people off this much. These people dislike her simply because she preaches that it’s okay to be gay. These people understand that with someone like Gaga preaching equality, change can happen, and they’re scared shitless because their idiotic beliefs are being shat upon because the world is beginning to change and move towards a more accepting culture. This is what cultural impact looks like, people. Call up your faves and have them take notes.
